Full transcript of Kevin on Caroline Rhea Show

(DLS)-Kevin was on the Caroline Rhea Show on Monday, February 3, 2003, wearing a black suit and a white shirt. If you haven't had the chance to see it, here is the complete script from his appearance on this talk show (Because of the technical problems of the newsboard, this is posted a little later than planned, but if you did miss it, you will still enjoy it!):

Keving came out, and gave Caroline a kiss on the cheek.

Kevin: "Good morning!"

Caroline: "Good morning! How are you?"

Kevin: "I'm good"

Caroline:" Girls, he kissed me, lol...they (your fans) are so sweet. You can't ever get tired of the girls screaming, right? Can you?"

Kevin: "I don't think so."

Caroline: "You are screamingly handsome though, I gotta give it to you."

Kevin: "Thank you very much."

Caroline: "Now, I'm sorry girls, but how does your beautiful wife feel about all that attention?"

Kevin: "She's cool. She's happy for me. We're both in the business. She's an actress and a dancer, so she's been very supportive...she's cool with it."

Caroline: "I love your story, so she was Belle in Beauty in the Beast."

Kevin: "She wasn't exactly Belle, she was a dancer. She was the jello molds, she was one of the maids. I don't know if you guys ever saw the show, the Disney Beauty and the Beast Show, I was working in character entertainment. I was a Ninja Turtle, I did Aladdin, I did a lot of different things. I'm not trying to give the magic of Disney away, but that was me in one of those turtle costumes, back in the days. I met her one day, and a friend of mine said, 'cause I was pretty shy and I wouldn't go and introduce myself to women and asked them out, I was pretty shy so...

Caroline: "Were you dressed as a turtle at the time?"

Kevin: "No, no, no, we were on a break, and a buddy of mine was like, you need to introduce yourself to her, she is interested, so I'm like, okay, I'm safe, I can do this, so I introduce myself, and the next day, I asked her out, and that was ten years ago.

Caroline: "It's so funny, thinking that, because having seen you perform, it's hard to believe that you're shy."

Kevin: "I mean, it's a different thing on stage, it's a different persona. People are there to see you act stupid, so you just go out there have a good time and act stupid."

Caroline: "I have an idea of how enormously famous you guys are because my fiance was doing this event that had Mel Gibson, Whoopie Goldberg, Winona Ryder, like everry movie stars were staying at this hotel, and there were tons of people staying ourtside, and they would walk out, and nobody would pay attention, but you were staying at this same hotel, and thousands of girls were waiting for you. Do you remember that?

Kevin: "Where was that?"

Caroline: "In Philadelphia."

Kevin: "Oh ya, they were reading the Declaration of Independence, and we had a show in town."

Caroline: "Ya, they were like Mel who? They were there for you guys."

Kevin: "I saw you not long ago at the Pediatrics Aids Baseball Tournament."

Caroline: "I know, I was not playing, I was too much of a wimp to play."

Kevin: "I was playing, and I almost blew my knee out. I had had surgery not long ago before that, and I thought I was all good to go, but apparently not."

Caroline: "I love how sweet this audience is. You say anything, and they just go: Awww!"

Kevin: "I need to bring them with me, wherever I go."

Caroline: "I know, you need to travel with them. How are you enjoying making your Broadway Debut?"

Kevin: "I'm having a blast. I'm having a great time. What a lucky guy I am!"

Caroline: "You can go see him on Broadway, that's the beauty of all this. You're playing a lawyer (showing a picture), what's your character's name?"

Kevin: "Billy Flynn."

Caroline: "The part that Richard Gere is playing in the movie. Have you seen the movie?"

Kevin: "Yes I have. I was in rehearsals when the movie just came out, and I was saying my lines along with Richard Gere, as I was rehearsing. I loved it."

Caroline: "I thought it was great too. I think it's the sexiest musical I ever seen."

Kevin: "It's very sexy. If you haven't seen the Broadway Musical, you should go see the musical, then go see the movie, so you know... but I had the best entrance in Broadway, I think. I don't know if you've seen it, but I come out with all these girls with feathers and fans, and it's just great."

Caroline: "Have any of the other Backstreet Boys come and see it yet?"

Kevin: "Not yet, but there planning to come during February. I think Howie will be the first to come and check it out."

Caroline: "Don't say what date 'cause that's gonna create, you know...problematic. How was opening night? Any jitters?"

Kevin: "Oh ya! It had been 11 years since I had done any acting, any dialogue. I did some regional theater and community theater and stuff growing up, and in high school, but it had been 11 years since I had said any dialogues, scripted, on stage, so I was worried about flopping lines, but I stayed up until three in the morning every night, 'cause I only had 2 1/2 weeks to rehearse, so I did my homework, so I just trusted that everything would be okay, it was in God's hands so."

Caroline: "And it worked." We're gonna play a game with Kevin when we come back, but I just have to ask a question: Are you and the Backstreet Boys gonna do another album?"

Kevin: "As soon as I'm done with this run on Broadway, we're suppose to go in the studio and work on another record."

After the commercial, they played "Guess that BSB song" in which audience members were humming to a song that they were hearing in headphones, and Kevin had to try to guess the song. Among the songs was "Shape of my heart". Kevin did guess some. At the end of the show, Caroline said buy to the viewers, and Kevin mouthed: "I love you mom."
